Perfect vision with a Headlight Restoration Service in Portland
Yellow, oxidized headlights reduce your headlights range by up to 80%! Make your car safer, and look years younger!
It's not a gimmick, it's the real deal.
We don't use your generic over-the-counter kits you might find on the shelves at your local store or your favorite online supplier. We go through an extensive 9-step wet sanding, compounding, polishing, and protection process to give you the best results for a bright road ahead of you.
The Process:
800 Grit Wet Sand | We start off with a semi-aggressive 800 grit sandpaper and water to wash away the residue. This is where the oxidation is removed. |
1,000 Grit Wet Sand | Now we start to refine the sanding marks with a 1,000 grit sandpaper. |
1,200 Grit Wet Sand | Furthur refinement of the surface with 1,200 grit sandpaper. |
1,500 Grit Wet Sand | Now we start to see a noticeable difference with the higher grit 1,500 sandpaper. |
2,000 Grit Wet Sand | Things are becoming much clearer now. |
2,500 Grit Wet Sand | This is the last step in the sanding process. The headlight is almost finished. |
Compound the Headlights | We use a rotary polisher with a cutting pad and compound to remove the sanding marks. |
Polish the Headlights | Lastly, we furthur refine the clarity of the headlight by polishing the surface with a light polish and polishing pad. |
Protect the headlights | To top it all off and keep them looking new, we apply a 1-year ceramic coating. This protects against the UV rays that oxidized it to begin with. |
Oxidation on your headlights is like your skin peeling after a sunburn. This oxidation turns your headlights yellow or foggy and drastically reduce your vision (and your appearance!). By sanding the headlights, we are removing the "dead skin" and exposing the fresh plastic underneath. We will then compound and polish them to bring them back to a like-new condition and keep them protected with a 1-year ceramic coating.
The Price:
Pricing may vary depending on condition, size, and complexity of headlights.

Headlight Restoration FAQs
-
Do you come to me?
Yes! I come to your location to provide our Headlight Restoration service. We service Portland, Clackamas, Oregon City, Milwaukie, Gladstone, Gresham, Happy Valley, Lake Oswego, West Linn, and surrounding areas.
-
How long does this service take?
It depends on the headlights but generally 30 minutes to a little over an hour.
-
Can you restore every headlight?
We wish we could but unfortunately, once things get to a certain point there is only so much we can do for them. Things like condensation, cracks, or chips we are unable to fix. Your headlights will look incredibly better after we are done, but there may be permanent damage.
-
Do you need access to water and power?
With this service, not at all! This service requires only a small bottle of water which we carry on board, as well a battery powered mini polisher. We can do this service in your parking lot, the side of the street, just about anywhere!
-
Why do my headlights get bad in the first place?
Just like if you went outside in the sun without sunscreen, not keeping your vehicle waxed and protected can lead to the sun's UV rays to "burn" or degrade the plastic. As the sun beats on it week after week, the condition will start to deteriorate or get worse. Eventually, it will turn yellow or fog over and hinder your visibility.
-
How do I keep my headlights looking new?
The best solution is limit your cars exposure to the sun by parking it in the shade or under cover. The ceramic coating we use will protect your car for up to a year, after which you can apply a typical wax or sealant to lengthen the protection.
You should apply spray sealant or waxes every 3-5 weeks or so, or paste products every 2-3 months.
